Saigle, also known as Rye, is the northernmost department of Serrilea. Some in the territory have closer ties to the northern neighbors of Illeria and Dasill (Zelendra) than they do to the Lutetian government. This hilly region is known for its steep seaside cliffs, the rapids of the River Thierry and the haunted Bois de Saigle (Forest of Rye). The highest point in the country is here, at Mont Etienne on the border with Arkanon. This region is also home to many ruined castles, primarily from the era of Queen Maude’s War. Most notably is Tamworth Castle, not far north of the city of Knightsbridge, where the ground is covered with red anemones, which grew up out of the bloody ground. This region sends 8 representatives to the legislature. The town of Swindon (3,500), on the east bank of the River Thierry, features a large castle, where Florian I settled during Queen Maude’s War.
