Bellefleur is the largest region of the country, however it is not as populous as the southern Departments. This region is largely agricultural and is named for its flowery plains, which supply Fougeres with many of its scents. The region features fields of onion, lavender, mint and bergamot and small patches of wooded lands. There are many small towns here. As one approaches the River Adour, fields of flax and cotton become more prevalent. The Department sends 9 representatives to the National Assembly.
