This province is in the far southwestportion of the kingdom. It contains the land south of the Baise and west of the Route de Roi. The region is characterized by a narrow coastal plain and gently rolling hills, with small picturesque towns. In the town of Montverde, the monk Didier of Serenity developed a process of refermentation of wine, which creates the bubbly wine the region is world famous for. The wine is widely known as Montdidier. The region sends 12 representatives to the National Assembly.
